Group dog walks

Pack Tails dog walking service conducts 1 hour long group dog walks in a variety of council designated off-lead dog parks and beaches across Melbourne. Dogs are social animals, just like humans, they thrive, grow and learn in each other’s company.  Exercise and proper socialisation play a key role in having a well-adjusted canine companion. At Pack Tails we provide a level of care that goes beyond simply clipping on a lead and trotting round the block or seeking out the nearest patch of grass.

Our group dog walks connects and indulges usually 4, to a maximum of 6, dogs of compatible temperament and energy levels to provide the right level of stimulation and exercise of each individual dog.  By keeping our groups small, we guarantee the highest level of care, a safe social environment and the individual attention your canine companion deserves.   

Once you contact us, we’ll arrange a time and date for a meet-and-greet with you and your dog(s).  The meet-and-greet gives your dog a chance to become acquainted with their new dog walker, for you to ask any questions you may have and for us to gather the relevant information we need to provide outstanding care.

Solo dog walks

Additional to the group dog walking service, Pack Tails offers solo dog walks. Solo dog walks cater for those dogs that may be older, injured, nervous, prefer their pack members to be made up the two legged species, or for any reason!

Just like our group dog walks, solo dog walks are conducted for 1 hour and in a variety of council designated off-lead dog parks, on-lead parks and beaches across Melbourne. However they can be reduced in length and tailored to your requests and the specific needs of your dog.

Above all, our solo dog walks are about a good balance of fun, exercise, proper stimulation and reinforcing good habits and canine manners.

Once you contact us, we’ll arrange a time and date for a meet-and-greet with you and your dog(s).  The meet-and-greet gives your dog a chance to become acquainted with their new dog walker, for you to ask any questions you may have and for us to gather the relevant information we need to provide outstanding care.

Pet Sitter

Pack Tails pet sitting service is on-site in-home care for your canine(s) and pets whilst you are away for a day, a week or however long an absence. Our pet sit service is a great alternative to boarding your dog in a kennel or your cat in a cattery.  It’s also a great pet care service for those looking at alternatives to crowded and noisy doggy daycare facilities for your new puppy or elderly dog.

From the moment you contact us, we find out everything there is to know about the routine that you and your pet(s) are used to. We take an acute interest in your pet’s individuality and cater for their specific needs.  Prior to the initiation of a Pack Tails pet sit service, we conduct a meet-and-greet with you and your furry family members to comprehensively ascertain their individual needs.

A pet-sit is a one hour visit and includes a 30 minute dog walk, feeding in accordance with your regular routine, water refreshment and pet waste disposal – ensuring your pet’s comfort and security. Additional services, such as mail collection and plant watering, are available at no extra cost, by arrangement. 

Pack Tails pet sitting service also understands that all pets are individual in their daily needs and routines. Therefore this pet-sit service can be tailored to suit your pets need and caters for even the most particular requirements.  While we primarily care for canines, we are more than capable and happy to pet sit any other animals you may have from feline to reptile.  Pack Tails pet sitting service can guarantee your pets remain comfortable in their familiar surroundings whilst receiving personalised one-on-one attention and care.

Dog Behavioural and Training Consultations

Pack Tails dog behavioural and training consultations can help those of you who are struggling with dog behaviour problems or unwanted behaviour.  Dog behaviour problems are common and can occur for many different reasons but are when left untreated, it gives your dog the chance to practise the undesirable behaviour over and over again.

Our behavioural and training consultations will treat unwanted behaviours and give your dog the chance to learn and practise a more desirable behaviour; we also identify any underlying causes that can help improve your dog’s quality of life.  Pack Tails believes that the modification of unwanted behaviour is fundamental to the health and well-being of both you and your dog. By consistently working with your dog your problems can be modified and overcome, it may not happen overnight but the right training for you and your dog will get you on your way to achieving your goals.

Pack Tails dog behavioural training consultations provide a tailored practical package of actions that are designed to combat the causes and symptoms of the problem dog behaviour. Working with you and your dog in your home provides the opportunity to assess the problem in the dog’s own environment with minimal stress and the most accuracy.

Consultations are conducted for 1 hour to 1 ½ hours, to ensure we can gather as much information to realise your expectations of what you would like from your dog.  Solutions are generally multi layered and can range from customising training exercises which enhance your dog’s confidence and improve their self-control to adjusting their exercise regime.  Pack Tails dog behavioural and training consult will include hands-on training with you and your dog to ensure you both get the most out of the consultation. We also offer follow up phone and email support for any further questions you may have at no extra charge.
